Hundreds of citizens were gathered at the Jump City football stadium for the one of the biggest games of the season.

It was the semi-finals for the major tournament taken place and everyone who was enough of a fan came out to support the Jump City Heroes against the Metropolis Sharks. The game was reaching the end of the second half with the score 16 to 8 in favor of the away team.
The players set up for the next play, giving their signals and codes to each other before finally making a move. The struggle lasted for a second before the quarterback threw the ball all the way to a runner who managed to catch it in time to reach the touchdown. The score was now tied and the whistle was blown for half-time.

The announcer checked the mike before saying “And now, folks, for you half-time entertainment; here’s Olivia Star!”

The super-star songstress walked out to the field and waved as the people cheered. She was dressed with a nice black short skirt dress that matched with her long raven hair. Once she reached the center of the field she cleared her throat to calm the still cheering crowd.

“And now, if you’ll please rise for the signing of our national anthem.” She said, making everyone stand, remove their hats for those who wore any, and placed their hands over their hearts.

She was about to sing, after clearing her throat yet gain, before a small tremor under her feet caught her off guard. She looked down confused before seeing it stopped. She looked back and gave an awkward giggle to the audience before trying to sing again. Before she could the tremor happened again, only now it was much more harder. This time it did not stop, it kept shaking the ground until even the people in the stands could feel it. It became so bad Olivia Star was knocked off her feet and fell to the ground.

Suddenly the ground nearby exploded up as something large pushed its way through the dirt. Some in the audience shrieked or gasped in shock  as they saw the massive bulk of Atlas stand up from where he came through the ground. In a flash of smoke Mumbo appear next to him, giving a bow to the audience.  From one of the field entrances came Fang and Kitten, making some of the people nearby run or move away in terror at the sight of him. From above flew down Killer Moth, landing near Mumbo. Finally a bright light shined from shined from the hole Atlas made. From out of it stepped Dr. Light, his armor fully glowing and a courageous look on his face.

At one point some guards came and aimed their firearms at the gang of villains, but they were easily taken care of thanks to Fang spitting webbing at them and immobilizing them, Atlas ripping a pieces of the ground from his feet and tossing it at them, or Mumbo using his magic to turn their guns into rabbits.

Light looked around at the audience, seeing them looked both confused and terrified by what was happening. He then looked down and saw the cowering Olivia Star, still sitting on the ground from where she’d fallen. He walked over, she still cringing as he came closer. Once he reached her he raised his hand as if to attack. She closed her eyes as his hand came down towards her. After a moment she looked to see that he’d simply taken the microphone from her hand.

He stood straight and cleared his throat before saying “Good people, we’re so glad you could all be here for this special occasion. We hope you don’t mind but we’ll be taking over for your entertainment this evening.” He paced back and forth in front of the gang as he continued to say “as you may or may not have been made aware, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to declare leadership over this city. And we made it clear to you that there would be nothing to stop us. And yet some of you refused to believe so, thinking that there was still some good in this world as new protectors stepped in to defend you.” He stopped and looked out to them all and said “But that’s all changed now. The so called ‘New Titans’ have been dealt with and are no longer a problem. But we feel that is not enough. So, to prove our new rule, we’ve decided to give you a little treat of our own.”

He nodded to Mumbo who nodded back. He pulled out a large blue blanket from his sleeves alone, thanks to his magic, and tossed one end to Killer Moth. They both walked back until the blanket was fully out. Mumbo used his wand and waved it a few times before a large puff of smoke came from under the blanket. Once it was removed, there stood the Teen Titans, all within their energy cells and helpless. There was a large collective gasp from the audience at the sight of this as Dr. Light smirked before addressing the crowd again.

“There they are, ladies and gentlemen.” He said, indicating the captive heroes. “Your mighty protectors; the Teen Titans. Helpless now as a babe alone in its crib. And now we’ll show you what happens to those who try to challenge us. We’ll start with the beloved Robin.”

The other Titans gasped and looked as Robin’s eyes only narrowed as he scowled more at Light. He walked over and grinned after seeing this.

“If there’s any last words you’d like to say,” he said to Robin with t emic close for all to hear. “then speak it now.”

Robin looked to his team, all looking worried, before looking to the audience, seeing some of them give the same looks, and finally looking to Light.

“Even if you stop us and any other who stands in your way,” he began “it doesn’t matter. This city will never bow down to you. There will always be someone, somewhere, ready to stand and fight. That’s why you’ll never win.”

The other Titans nodded, even Starfire breaking a tear at this but still keeping a smile, while Light only looked annoyed.

“A very...enlightening...speech.” He said. “But it doesn’t matter.” He raised his hand as energy from it started to build. As Robin closed his eyes and bowed his head, as well as some of the others, both the Titans and those in the audience, looked away, Light said “Game Over, Robin.”

Before Dr. Light could give the finishing blow, a sudden flash of electricity shot from somewhere and knocked out one of the stadium lights. It followed in a current from one to the next until the whole field went dark. All looked around in confusion before someone spoke.

“Sorry to disappoint...” a familiar voice to the Titans and some of the villains rang out in the stadium.

The lights came back on as another current of electricity came back on. Once they were, standing on the opposite side of the field was the New Titans, all looking eager for a second round. The Titans all looked with surprise and joy at the sight of their recruits still alive, while the villains looked in shock and anger.

"But now it's overtime." Static, the one who spoke before declared.

“What?” Light said angered. He then looked to Atlas, Mumbo and Fang before saying “You told me they were dead!”

“We...we thought they were.” Mumbo said.

“Apparently they’re harder to crush than a cockroach.” Atlas said. “It doesn’t matter. We can still deal with them.”

“Careful what you say.” Offspring said. “We’re not the same group of yuppie kids you took on before.”

“You’re not taking this city...” Zan began.

“And you’re not laying a finger on our friends.”  Jayna finished.

“You want them, you’ll have to go through us.” Stargirl added.

“Because we’re Titans.” Static said. “And Titans don’t give up.”

Dr. Light only grinned as the other villains readied for a fight before saying “While this isn’t what I had in mind, it should still be even more enjoyable. Killing two teams in one stroke.”

They each lined up, five against five, Kitten running behind where the Titans were in defense since she had no powers. They all stared each other down, knowing who would take on who once the fight started. For a moment they were silent as they looked to their enemies, before an eager child in the crowd who’d been watching with all the others jumped up and cheered.

“GO TITANS! GO!” He shouted.

With that both teams charged at each other, giving battle cries as they did, before finally meeting in the middle and their battle commencing.

Static pulled out a small metal disk from is pocket as flung it towards Dr. Light. As he did, he sparked his electric powers on it, making it grow as it came towards him. This turned out to be the same metal disk that was once the trash can lid. Dr. Light was caught off-guard by this before the disk bashed right into the dome of his head. It kept flying despite having hit him, making Light growl in anger before aiming his palms to fire his light energy attacks at Static. However Static only smirked as the disk came back and banged into the back of Light’s head, making him fall to the ground as Static caught it in his hands once it returned to him. He then threw it in front of him and used it to fly.

Atlas came charging towards Zan and Jayna, who both already touched their hands together and activated their powers. Once he was close enough, Atlas raised his fists to smash both of them. Zan ran ahead and turned into an ice slick before throwing himself in between Atlas’ legs. This created the ice slick right under his feet, and just in time as Jayna, in the form of a triceratops, cam changing towards him and smashed him back. He went stumbling back before sliding on the ice slick, all the way into one of the goal posts on the field and bending it. He recovered in time to see Jayna still charging at him before catching her by her two giant horns and having a power struggle with her.

Stargirl fang off with Fang, who saw as she went into the air and flew towards him. He fired a volley of web shots, which she avoided by flying back-and-forth from his shots, before pointing her staff at him. She fired a light-stream at him which wrapped around his spider legs and pulled them together like a hogtie. He fell to the ground before she hoisted him up, via the light-stream ,before swinging him over and smashing him to the ground again. She did this a few more times before spinning him around and letting him fly all the way over into a wall.

“Like a bug on a windshield.” Stargirl said, seeing him recover from the attack.

He came charging back towards her and made a giant leap into the air, managing to snag her right foot in his human hand before pulling her down. Once on the ground the two began to struggle as she used her staff to block two of his spider legs from stabbing her.

Offspring had no real trouble with Killer Moth as he stretched his arms to reach behind him and pull on his wings. Moth reacted by turning at trying to claw at the boy’s arms, only to have them warp crisscross around his body. With a hard tug  from Offspring, Killer Moth went spinning like a top very fast before stopping and falling over from being too dizzy.

Just then he heard a noise behind and ducked before Mumbo’s attack could hit him. Offspring turned the upper half of his body all the way around to see Mumbo charge up his want for a larger blast of magic. Offspring managed to shape his legs into a spring shape like before and bounced out of the way, making Mumbo miss every shot r magic he fired at him.

Static landed over where the Titans were and saw the relived looks on their faces.

“Ok, this makes it an official A for you guys.” BB said.

“Well we didn’t feel like taking the job away from you all.” Static joked.

Cyborg saw as he examined the cells and said “Careful. They’re level 3 quantum density fields. A wrong move and we might all be fried.”

Static rubbed his chin before saying “Maybe if I try to reverse the magnetics. Maybe it’ll cancel out the energy fields and drop the power grids.”

“No I tried that.” Cy said. “It didn’t work and...hey wait...you know this stuff too?”

“Sure.” He shrugged. “I’m a science and technology major in my high school.”

“Oh.” Cy said with a bit of a stunned look.

“Can you think of anything else that’ll work?” Robin asked.

“I don’t know.” He answered. “If anything I could try to absorb all the energy...but...”

“But?” Raven asked.

“But the overall overload in power could fry him.” Cy answered. “So that’s not an option.”

Suddenly something came from Static’s right and nearly hit him in the end. Thankfully he managed to duck in time before it could. He and the Titans looked to see it was a birdarang before looking where it came from and seeing Kitten standing there, still wearing Robin’s belt.

“Then maybe I’ll fry you myself!” She screamed before pulling out another one and tossing it at him.

Static managed to stop it with a small electric blast from his fingers only for it to explode a few feet in front of him and send him on his back. He recovered in time to see Kitten pull another birdarang, not sure if it’s an explosive of not, and pulled out his disk to fly around her in the air.

Meanwhile Atlas had managed to push Jayna aside and made her land on the ground. She recovered and changed into a giant serpent, with black scales and large red eyes and small horns on the tip of its snout, before wrapping her body around his torso and arms. As he struggled he saw as Zan, changing from an ice slick to a geyser of water, fire towards him and forcing his back.

“You think...water and animals....can stop the mighty Atlas!” He said, struggling to keep his footing.

“Maybe...maybe not.” Jayna said, struggling to keep him bound in her coils. “But then again....Zan just had to make sure you stood still long enough.”

“For what?” Atlas said before Jayna suddenly slipped off of him.

Just then she watched as all the water over Atlas began to freeze into ice. He looked n shock before becoming encased inside the frozen prison. As she changed back to her normal form, Jayna could see the face of her brother from rom the ice over Atlas’ chest.

“One bad guy on ice.” He joked.

“Think you can keep him like that long enough?” she asked.

“As much as I can.” He said before feeling Atlas start to struggle underneath the ice. “Go on. I’ll handle it.”

She nodded before running towards where Stargirl and Fang were fighting.

Stargirl had managed to push Fang off of her before firing a bolt of energy at him, sending him flying back towards Jayna. She transformed into an ankylosuarus and used her clubbed tail to smack Fang so hard he went flying past the goal post, landing hard on the ground.

She went back to Stargirl, changing to normal, before she said “You ok?”

“I’m better now that he’s not dripping spider spit on me.” She said. She then saw something behind Jayna and said “Duck!” before forcing her to the ground with her.

A beam of light energy shot over their heads before both stood and saw the recovered Dr. Light aiming his hands at them.

“I will not be beaten by amateur heroes!” he declared before firing more at them.

On impulse, Jayna changed into a turtle and was knocked back, while hiding in her shell, while Stargirl flew up to avoid more hits. Light followed her movements and kept firing as he did. She spun her staff around to deflect a few shots that came right towards her before firing her own shots at him. The two volleyed each other while moving around to avoid being hit by the other.

Static still managed to avoid a few more gadgets being throw at him by Kitten before she used another explosive birdarang which detonated behind him in the air. This sent him toppling out of control until he landed on the ground. He looked up in time to see as she came towards him with a bunch of balls in her hand, ready to throw them at him with whatever they’d do.

“Static!” Robin called out. “Hit the pellets. Quick!”

He did so, shooting a small spark from his finger at them, before making them explode in a cold of smoke. They were actually gas bombs. Kitten coughed before trying to see, proving useless because of all the smoke.

She looked down to see Static missing before seeing her clothes and scream “NO! This was my favorite shirt!” Indicating the ashes all over her front from the explosion.

He took the advantage and swiped the belt from her waist before she even noticed. When she did, she looked around worried before the rope from Robin’s grapple-gun shot out from behind and ensnared her. She dropped to her knees when it finished and looked, as the smoke cleared, to see Static walking towards her with the other end of the gun in hand and the belt strung over his shoulder.

“That’s why you don’t play with Robin’s toys.” He said. Seeing she was out of the fight, Static walked over towards the Titans, looked back to see the other’s dealing with the other villains, then said “It’s now or never!”

“It’s too risky!” Robin said. “You might not make it!”

“That’s one of the great things about being a hero,” Static began “you need to take a lot of risks along the way.”

Robin was a bit surprised by that statement, but before he could say more, Static held out his hands and started absorbing the energy from it, giving painful groans as he did.
Atlas finally managed to break free from the frozen prison of Zan’s powers, shattering the ice into pieces. The pieces moved on their own, become water before forming back into Zan himself. He stood there in front of Atlas, shaking off the feeling of putting himself back together, before standing ready to fight.

“Insignificant child.” Atlas said, putting his fists on his hips. “You dare to challenge Atlas with such unremarkable powers? What chance does water have against steel?”

Zan only smirked before saying “Form of....an ice golem!” And in a flash he changed into a giant walking beast of ice.

It stood a good five feet taller than Atlas, it’s structure similar to a human beings. It’s entire body was made from ice and a large bulk of it looked like muscles on its arms and legs. It’s face resembled Zan’s as if it were actually carved from ice.

He looked down at the shocked Atlas and said “What was that about unremarkable powers again?” coyly while cracking his knuckles.

Before Atlas could react, Zan slammed his huge fist into his face. Altas went stumbling back before recovering and charging towards him. Zan held up his hands and managed to block the punch, the ice cracking a bit from the impact. He grabbed his hand and tossed him aside before looking down and seeing the crack. Zan knew he couldn’t keep fighting in this form forever, but he needed to draw some time before the Titans could be freed. He saw Atlas rise and come at him again, making him charge as well before both met in the center and continued to fight.

Offspring still kept dodging blasts from Mumbo before saying “Hey, hat man! I got a magic trick for you! Abra ka-dumbo!”

With that he made his hands come flinging towards him reaching behind mumbo and grabbing the rim of his pants. With a hard yank he pulled his shorts over his head, blinding him and making him look embarrassing. With him distracted, Offspring managed to give a hard punch to the jaw and grabbing his want in the process. Once he had it, and seeing Mumbo down for the count, he snapped it in half before tossing the pieces aside.

“Now that’s showbiz.” He said, wiping his hands.

He then noticed as Stargirl and Dr. Light had both fired beams at each other, which locked mid-air, and both were now in a power struggle. Both concentrated and pushed as much force as they could, but in the end Stargirl lost the struggle and was knocked out of the air by Light’s superior blast.

He smirked at this before seeing Offspring stretch his body towards him, an angered looked in his face. He turned in time and unleashed a blinding light from a device on his chest, making Offspring stop to try and recover his sight. With him distracted Light aimed and fired another blast at the blind hero, knocking him out with enough force from it.

Static, still struggling, looked and saw as the barriers to the cells were wavering and said “It’s....working...just a little more.”

Light saw this and snarled, saying “No! I will not lose again! Not to a bunch of children!”

Light came closer to him before aiming his weapon to fire, only to be knocked to the side by Jayna, in the form of a bull, before he could fire.

Static looked as she changed back and looked to him, saying “I got your back!” with a thumbs up.

He nodded before going back to concentrating on absorbing the energy.

Light stood and growled before seeing Jayna transform into another animal, an alien creature.

It dark green skin and stood about eight feet tall. It had purple markings over its body and large spike-like hair goring from the back of its neck to its lower back. It had large sharp claws and jagged teeth, and glowing yellow eyes.

She roared before leaping at Light, who fired a blast at her that missed. Once she was close enough, Jayna managed to slice a huge scratch mark on his chest plate. He ducked another slash from her and managed to use his blinding light to catch her off guard. Before she could recover his fired a point-blank attack to her chest, sending Jayna back and forcing her to turn normal.

Zan had been fighting Atlas so much he’d received more cracks to parts of his ice golem body. At this point he kept his arms crossed in defense as Atlas gave one punch after another. Finally Zan managed to smack him forward with a swipe of his hands. Once Atlas was far enough, he had to take a moment to catch his breath before looking at the cracks.

He saw Atlas, who also saw the cracks, come towards him and say “It looks as if you’re waning in strength. A shame. Because I can do this forever!”

In response, Zan charged towards him as Atlas did so as well. When both met they reared their fists and punch, both meeting in the middle. There was a slight boom from their fists banging together before Atlas finally collapsed from the fight. His arm hand been bent into an awkward manner from the force of the punch and he could not fight any more.

Zan smiled before changing back to his normal form from exhaustion and saying “Try 30 seconds.”

Static finally did it, he’s gathered enough energy to drop the barrier. The Teen Titans were freed. But as he tried to stay stable with it, he found himself in pain from all the constraint.

“Got to....get...rid of it....” he said.

“Up!” Cyborg said. “Aim it up!”

Light looked back in time to see this and shouted “NO!” before he did.

Static pointed his hands up and gave a loud yell before a large beam of light and electricity shot up from him and into the air. Once it was high enough, a large blaze of exploding light covered the sky and shined so bright it nearly blinded all who looked.

By this point the other New Titans had recovered to see this, before looking down to see Static giving all that he could into forcing the energy up. Once he was done, and the energy above finally stopped glowing, Static collapsed into Robin’s arms as he reached him. He slung his arm over his shoulder to keep him up.

Static, still alive from the experience, looked and said “Now I know what a lightning rod feels like.”

Robin and the others smiled in relief to see he was still alive.

“NNNNOOOOO!” Light shouted, making them look to see. “IT WAS FOOL PROOF! I WAS SUPPOSED TO WIN! WHY? WHY?”

He collapsed to his knees and sobbed while the Titans only looked amongst themselves in awkward remorse. They paid no further mind to this before checking on the others, seeing they were all alright once they managed to wake. As they did they regrouped in the middle and all they could hear was the cheering of the crowd, parsing them for the amazing fight they’d see and showing that good still beats evil.

“Now that’s what I like to hear!” Offspring said, posing and waving his arms to the crowd to soak in the glory. He looked back to see some of the others a bit awestruck by this before reaching over to Zan and pulling him closer, saying “C’mon, Zan, live in the moment. You’re a superhero star!”

He watched as Zan slowly grew a smile and then waved at the people. As he heard them cheer more he become more enthusiastic by it and continued his waving more.

“Hey by the way,” Offspring said, catching Zan’s attention. “you did great out there, man.”

Zan, smiling that he’d finally gave a compliment, nodded and said “Thanks. You too.”

With that Offspring held up his fist which Zan bumped his own against. Stargirl and Jayna smiled at this, knowing now there would, or at least should, be less bickering between the two.

Before any of them had the chance to leave, BB walked up to Zan and said “So....an ice golem?”

********************

It was morning when all the Titans had returned to the Tower.

All were situated in the living room while each team stood in their own areas. The Teen Titans stood at the front while the New Titans stood in the middle, looking towards them.

Robin walked in front of his group and said “Last night all of you accomplished a great victory. You took on not only a group of villains, but also a whole city of criminals in one night. But why do you think you proved better then when you did the tests?”

“Uh...eagerness?” Zan said.

“Tenacity?” Offspring added.

“A spunky attitude?” Jayna said, getting questionable looks from her brother and Offspring.

Robin finally said “Teamwork. You all listened and coordinated. You stood by each other and watched out for each other. But more than that, you learned to trust and to be trusted by your leader.” He indicated Static who smiled at this. “Not to mention that your leader, himself, learned what potential he and his team had. With that I mind, I think it’s about time you got these.” He indicated what he had in his hand.

They all looked to see him holding Titans communicators, one for each of them.

“Pinch me, I’m dreaming.” Stargirl whispered to Jayna.

“Me too.” She whispered back, almost eagerly.

He walked over and handed each of them communicators, starting with the Wonder Twins and finishing with Static.

Robin looked over all of them and said “Congratulations. You’re now officially honorary Titans. The New Titans.”

They all looked to each other and smiled or nodded before Static said “Thank you. We’re glad to have them.”

Robin shook his hand before the other Titans mingled amongst each other.

“So what happens now?” Jayna asked.

“Hard to say.” Cy answered. “You guys still might need a bit of training here-and-there, in time you might find your own city to start fighting bad guys in.”

“I hear L.A. nice this time of year.” BB pointed out, getting a small chuckle from Jayna.

“Whatever happens,” Robin began “just remember to stick together as a team.”

“We will.” Static said.

“And if anyone gets out of line,” Stargirl began “I’ll remind them what happens when you mess with the living lighting rod here,” she indicated Static, “and his star powered teammate.”

He looked to her, a bit confused by the statement, before seeing her give a wink to him. He blushed at this before looking away and smiling, his face still flustered with his blushing. Robin saw this and looked back to Starfire, who nodded and smiled at the sight.

“Wait.” Offspring said. “What about the Justice League? What do we tell them?”

“What we need to.” Cy said. “But I still think we should do something extra. Get them back for this whole playing school thing they threw on us.”

“Oh I think I have an idea.” Raven said, smirking a bit.

********************

Inside the Monitoring Hub of the Watchtower everything was quiet until a large portal opened in the middle of it.

From it, three figures stepped out and looked over to see they were back in the Watchtower. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman all were relived to be back after their mission.

“Well that went better than hoped.” Wonder Woman said, as the portal closed behind them.

“But worse than expected.” Batman said. “We should try to convene with Barda and Scott Free in case.”

“I’ll put the word out to them once I get back to the fortress.” Superman said. “Hopefully we’ll....”

He stopped when he saw Robin, Cyborg and Raven standing there, in front of the main door into the room.

“Robin?” Wonder Woman said.

“What are you all doing back here?” Batman asked. “Did the others complete their training already?”

“They did better than we’d thought.” Robin said. “Not bad for a bunch of newcomers.”

“Well...that’s good news.” Superman said, smirking a bit awkwardly.

“Is this all you came to tell us?” Batman asked. “You know it could’ve been easier though communicator.”

“Well we just wanted to give our own personal thanks for giving us the chance to train the new guys.” Cy said.

“That and we wanted to pay you back for the opportunity.” Raven added.

“Pay us back?” Wonder Woman said, giving questioning looks to Batman and Superman.

In response, the three Titans stepped aside for the door behind them to open. From it came four figures, three very short and one giant sized. Once they could see them better, the three Leaguers could see Melvin, Timmy Tantrum, Teether and finally Bobby the giant monster teddy bear.

“Kids,” Raven said to the three little heroes, “This is Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. They’ll be taking care of you for the next.”

“What?” Superman said.

“But...” Batman began to say.

Robin cut him off though and said “Don’t worry. Who better to train the younger generation then the big three members of the Justice League?” he ended with a smirk.

“Wait.” Wonder Woman try to say “We just...”

“Oops. Look at the time.” Cy said. “We gotta go.”

He and the others already started running out of the room, smiling as they did.
Robin called back “Good luck!” before they were gone.

The Leaguers looked in confusion amongst each other before looking down at the little heroes.

“Why are you guys dressed in pajamas?” Melvin asked, while holding Bobby’s hand.

“I have to go to the bathroom.” Timmy whined.

The three looked at each other and groaned at what they were ticked into doing now.
I own nothing. All material belongs to DC comics and those at Cartoon Network.

Note: I wanted to convey how Static is also very smart aside from having decent powers, hence the whole reference to his education as well as being the one who coordinated the team's plans.
In one story where he'd shown up, Zan did actually become an ice golem in a fight. I thought it best to reference that as well as show how strong Zan can be in a fight.
The reference to Barda and Scott Free is that of Big Barda and Mister Miracle, two heroes who come from New Genesis, the planet referenced in the first chapter.

Hope you've all enjoyed yet another story. If you're interested you can find others in my gallery. Thank you.

I love how Raven just knows who would annoy them the most because she's delt with them before lol
